This year’s edition was particularly historic as the Philippine Department of Tourism (DOT) officially returned to DRT SHOW, underscoring its full support for the diving industry. The Opening Ceremony on September 5 was graced by Philippine Secretary of Tourism, Christina Garcia Frasco, who delivered an inspiring address emphasizing the Philippines’ unparalleled marine biodiversity and the government’s commitment to promoting sustainable dive tourism.

A Historic Return and International Momentum

Against the backdrop of Manila’s SMX Convention Center, DRT SHOW Philippines 2025 opened to waves of enthusiasm. The return of the Department of Tourism brought renewed energy, inspiring confidence across the industry.

The Opening Ceremony became a landmark moment as Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco addressed exhibitors, media, and visitors, highlighting the Philippines as a global diving hub. This presence elevated the event beyond an exhibition — it became a celebration of national pride and industry solidarity.

At the same time, the show attracted a growing number of international exhibitors, particularly from Korea, China, Europe and others. Their participation reflected the Philippines’ expanding role as a gateway to the Asian dive market and a hub for cross-border industry exchange.

The event recorded 27,954 visits over three days, a reflection of both strong local interest and renewed confidence from international buyers and partners.

Exhibitors from Europe further added premium products and sustainable concepts, broadening the scope of choices for both professionals and enthusiasts.

Adding to the event’s significance, the Philippine Department of Tourism returned as an official supporter, renewing its commitment to the dive industry and reinforcing the credibility of the show. Exhibitors reported strong engagement with buyers, using the platform not only for sales but also to launch new products, meet distributors, and strengthen long-term partnerships.

Atmosphere: A Celebration of Diving and the Ocean

Throughout the three days, the SMX Convention Center was transformed into a vibrant ocean-inspired arena, alive with the energy of thousands of visitors. Walking through the exhibition floor felt like entering a living coral reef, where every booth revealed a new discovery.

The professional side of the show was equally dynamic. Seminar halls were filled to capacity as experts in underwater photography, freediving, marine conservation, and tourism delivered knowledge and inspiration. These sessions became interactive dialogues, sparking new ideas and encouraging collaboration across borders. Beyond business, the show embodied a strong sense of community: certified divers exchanged stories, beginners explored training opportunities, and NGOs inspired visitors with campaigns to protect marine life.

The increasing presence of international exhibitors gave this year’s event an added dimension of cross-border exchange and cultural diversity. Visitors not only deepened their appreciation for Philippine diving destinations but also connected with global trends and technologies, enriching the atmosphere with both festivity and professionalism.
