DRT SHOW Malaysia 2024: Dive into an Upgraded Venue and Meets Global Brand

Diving Resort Travel Expo Malaysia(DRT SHOW Malaysia) organised by LX Development Group Ltd. concluded successfully on 2 February at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. This grand event brought together numerous domestic and foreign dive operators. The three-day show attracted a continuous stream of visitors, with a total attendance reaching 25,365.
  
The organisers specially scheduled the exhibition to coincide with Malaysia’s diving season, creating a unique and advantageous environment. This strategic timing provided outstanding opportunities for communication and collaboration between visitors and exhibitors, fostering valuable partnerships.
 
 

Diverse Global Exhibitors
Since 2010, DRT SHOW has successfully organised nearly 50 international-level diving exhibitions, garnering support from numerous high-quality global manufacturers. This year’s expo has attracted exhibitors from various regions, including China, Hong Kong, Taipei, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan, the Maldives, Palau, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Brunei, among others. It includes association units, diving training systems, dive shops, dive centres, resorts, liveaboards, and conservation organisations, enriching the internationalisation and diversity of the event.
 
InternationalEquipment Brands Converge
Many well-known equipment brands such as Conquest, CRESSI, DIVECICA, HUAWEI,OceanMax, Scubalamp, Weefine, Sea Frogs, Problue, OrcaTorch, DIVE&SAIL, LetonPower, and more will showcase the latest diving equipment, technological innovations, and design concepts. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase equipment from brands like Gull, Indivar, Bism, Isotta, Aqua Lung, TUSA, Shearwater, Garmin, Mares, Apollo, Scubapro, Scuba System International, and more at the event.

Venue expansion to Two Hall
To accommodate more exhibitors and visitors, the organisers moved the exhibition to the bustling tourist area of Kuala Lumpur, located in the convenient transportation hub of the KLCC Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Simultaneously, the exhibition expanded from a single hall to two halls, which are Halls 4 and 5. This upgrade aimed to provide a broader, more comfortable platform, facilitating in-depth communication and collaboration within and beyond the diving industry, while showcasing the latest technologies, products, and services.

New Product Zone
The exhibition featured a new product zone where well-known brands like Conquest, HUAWEI, Problue, BlackTec, Indivar, OceanMAX, and others publicly displayed their latest products, enhancing brand exposure and marketing while showcasing their research and technological innovation capabilities.

Diving Seminar by Professional Speakers
Over the three days of the exhibition, more than 20 professional speakers, including Sendoh Wang, Patrick Ong, Eric Goh, Leg Yein & Leng Sean, QJ Kang, Amli Abdullah, Kenji Ichimura, Ipah Uid Lynn, Dr. Adam Lim Chee Ooi, Affan Zanila, Fariz Sawal, A.B. Lee, and others, shared insights on various themes such as underwater photography, dive tourism, freediving, and diving equipment. Through captivating underwater images and personal experiences, speakers engaged in face-to-face communication with the audience.

Honouring Diving Pioneers
In addition, since 2014, DRT SHOW has expressed gratitude to outstanding individuals who have made significant contributions to the Asian diving industry by establishing the ‘Asia Hall of Fame,’ with annual award ceremonies held during the exhibition in Hong Kong. The exhibition also included a Diving Museum showcasing early diving equipment, including scuba gear, masks, underwater photography equipment such as cameras, flashes, and housing, allowing visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the history and appreciate the wisdom of pioneers in the diving industry. 

Ocean Stars UW Photo Gallery Showcasing the Beauty Beneath
This year ‘Ocean Stars UW Photo Gallery’ attracted numerous outstanding photographers. The sixty selected pieces were showcased both onsite and online during the exhibition. An onsite voting event for the best popularity award took place, and after three days of enthusiastic voting, Celyn Yong won the popularity award, receiving a 3-day, 2-night leisure diving trip sponsored by Aman Tioman Beach Resort. To further appreciate the beauty of underwater photography, this year’s photo gallery included a special section featuring masterpieces, aiming to raise awareness for marine conservation through these stunning works.

Ocean Culture Fair
The exhibition also brought together several handicraft brands in the ‘Ocean Culture Fair,’ selling various marine-related creative products. This not only provided ocean enthusiasts with information about diving tourism and equipment but also allowed them to purchase favourite marine-themed products, promoting the market for ocean-related handmade brands and inspiring awareness of environmental protection.

Ocean Stamps Collection Activity and Lottery Draws
The 2024 DRT SHOW Malaysia exhibition offered a diverse range of activities, with the ‘Ocean Stamps Collection Activity’ being particularly popular. Visitors only needed to complete tasks at specified booths, collect stamps, and could then receive exquisite gifts.The weekend lottery draws continued to receive enthusiastic acclaim from visitors, being one of the most popular activities. The atmosphere was lively, and as the value of prizes increased, the excitement reached its peak. Prizes included a variety of marine-themed products, diving equipment, photography gear, resort stays, and diving trips
